Banāt al-Ummah began with four Muslim women united by sisterhood and a shared desire to seek beneficial knowledge. But our vision extends far beyond our own educational journey.

In the summer of 2027, inshaAllah, we hope to travel to Cairo, Egypt, to study Arabic, the Qur'an, and Islamic sciences, followed by a Qur'an-centered Muslimah retreat in Bosnia. During our studies, we aim to strengthen our Arabic proficiency, deepen our understanding of Islam, pursue recognized certificates and ijazāt where available and attainable, and establish meaningful connections with teachers and educational institutions abroad.

Our goal is not simply to seek knowledge for ourselves, but to create opportunities for others to seek it as well.

Upon returning home, we hope to share what we've learned through Arabic lessons, Qur'an classes, study circles, and community educational programs, teaching within the areas in which we have gained sufficient knowledge and qualification.

Our long-term vision is to establish a sponsorship initiative that helps Muslim sisters and brothers pursue Islamic education overseas at little to no personal cost. By building relationships with trusted institutions, teachers, and communities abroad, we hope to make opportunities for beneficial knowledge more accessible to those who may otherwise be unable to afford them.

We hope that your sadaqah will not only support four students today, but become part of something that continues to benefit others, inshaAllah. Every lesson shared, every student supported, and every opportunity created has the potential to extend the benefit of this initial generosity.

Our intention is to build something lasting, seeking the reward of sadaqah jariyah through beneficial knowledge that continues to be taught, practiced, and passed on.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.”
Sahih Muslim 1631

With Allah's permission, we hope this journey becomes the foundation of a lasting effort to spread beneficial knowledge, strengthen our communities, and open doors for future generations of students.
